Designed to evoke a "hauntology" that can be described as a “nostalgia for lost futures.”
TO ENABLE EACH AUGMENTED REALITY EXPERIENCE YOU NEED THE TRIGGER IMAGES AVAILABLE FROM:
THE EXPERIENCES:
The Memorial clock tower (1862-1973)
St Leonards Pier (1891-1951)
Bexhill beach huts (1905)
It is a significant exploration of the impact of cutting edge ‘augmented reality’ technologies on memory & experience. Recreated virtual 3D models which can be triggered by holding the postcard in the present voids where once stood St Leonards Pier (destroyed after WWII) & the Albert Memorial (lost to fire in 1973) viewable using smart devices, as well as the personal memory ‘death of a beach hut’ , lost to storms in 1905.
